1963
- R.L. Dolby Ltd was founded by Ralph Dolby.
- The company’s original location was Giffnock, Glasgow.
- Initial products sold included Monitors and Ventilators from companies such as Ambu and Watson Ventilators.
1965
- The company moved to new premises in Stirling.
1970
- First Cardiac Surgery ITU Monitoring Installation at Mearnskirk Hospital, Renfrewshire.
1980
- First complete New Hospital Monitoring Order at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.
1988
- Arthur Dolby took over from his father as Managing Director of R.L. Dolby Ltd.
1989
- R.L. Dolby began working with Scottish Healthcare Supplies (HPS) to provide Oxygen Therapy solutions to patients throughout Scotland. Providing them with a convenient, cost effective supply of supplementary oxygen in their home.
- The company expanded its sales efforts to cover England and Wales.

1991
- R.L. Dolby appointed UK distributor for leading monitoring company Criticare Systems Inc.
2003
- The company began selling leading ECG equipment for Mortara Instrument.
Vidacare EZ-IO® Driver
2006
- The revolutionary EZ-IO® Intraosseous Infusion system from Vidacare was added to the Dolby product portfolio.
2008
- Company taken over by new management team of Alan Speirs, Alistair Dick, and Andy Allen.
- R.L. Dolby Ltd is rebranded and the company name changes to Dolby Medical Ltd.
